Are older condominiums required to have sprinkler systems?

Q: I live in an older condominium without sprinklers in case of fire. I have been told that we need to retrofit the buildings to comply with new building codes and that the retrofit is a costly endeavor. Can you explain our obligations?    Read the Q&A…………
