Attorney raises possible legal issues over HOA’s plan to ban sex offenders (AZ)

The last thing Valley homeowners want is a convicted sex offender living in their neighborhood.   But what can they do about it?  A Goodyear homeowners association wants to prevent level 2 and level 3 sex offenders from buying or renting in its community.  HOA attorney Chandler Travis said a community like Palm Valley in Goodyear can prevent sex offenders from living there if it changes its bylaws, or CC&Rs, but stopping a sex offender from buying a home and possibly renting it out could present some legal problems.    Read the article………..
