160 Brookside trees might get chopped (CA)

A Brookside neighborhood association has asked the city for permission to remove up to 160 trees from a route often used by walkers and runners, saying that the roots are damaging property owners’ backyards and potentially their homes.  The city has not yet acted on the request. Richard Larrouy, the city’s planning manager, told residents at a community meeting last week that in 21 years with the city, he had never seen a request from a neighborhood group to remove that many trees.    Read the article…………
