Charleston County stormwater bill surprises Johns Island community (SC)

A seven-fold hike in the Charleston County stormwater bill for Ravens Bluff Homeowners Association on Johns Island has some residents feeling sticker shock.  “The amount of the increase was what was so surprising to my neighborhood,” said Debra Menard, who is secretary-treasurer for the Ravens Bluff association.  An Oct. 17 letter from the county to Ravens Bluff homeowners said the annual stormwater utility bill for 2016 will be an estimated $1,936.
