Competing Shadowmoss board countersues in HOA dispute (SC)

The competing board of the Shadowmoss Plantation Homeowners Association wants a judge to appoint an independent third party to oversee the association until a legal dispute over dueling boards is settled.  The nine members of the board elected in a special meeting Oct. 12 are countersuing the seven members of the incumbent board, saying they don’t have authority to act on behalf of the homeowners in the West Ashley neighborhood because they have been voted out of office and replaced by a new board.  The incumbent board maintains the voting results of the special meeting held on Oct. 12 were invalid because the disgruntled homeowners failed to follow policy.     Read the article…………….
