Congress Avenue Shut Down After Glass Falls From Austin’s Tallest Skyscraper (TX)

Congress Avenue was closed to traffic between 2nd and 3rd streets on Thursday after glass was reported as having fallen from the Austonian– a condominium tower that is the city’s tallest building.  According to the Austin American-Statesman newspaper, police received a 911 call from a caller reporting “raining shards of glass” just after 2:30 p.m. Police told the Statesman that glass from the building is designed to shatter upon impact.     Read the article………….
