Don’t blame the victims, condo owners tell Burlington (ON)

As Stephen Blaney, the professional engineer and building design specialist who has examined the building on numerous occasions, stated to the Spectator, “no preventive maintenance could have addressed the structural problems. No, it was a latent defect in the building from the day it was constructed.” A latent defect, we add, that the municipality of Burlington had two opportunities to inspect for and discover (first in 1965 and then again in 1995, as was its responsibility).   Read the article…………
