New Zealand: Government reviews Unit Titles Act to tighten apartment rules

The Government has released a discussion document of reforms to better protect the growing number of apartment and townhouse dwellers.  Bodies corporate and property professionals have been calling for a review of the Unit Titles Act 2010 after striking difficulties resolving disputes, with disclosure requirements, and funding of long term maintenance.  Auckland Central MP Nikki Kaye, who set up public meetings and a website to air their concerns, said she was delighted with the proposed reforms which were “hugely important” to Aucklanders.    Read the article………….
