SC: Homeowners near lakes consider new round of votes to raise taxes, repair dams

Three Midlands neighborhoods prepared for a vote to raise their own taxes to finance repairs on community dams damaged in the October 2015 floods.  On Aug. 23, homeowners whose properties abut Cary Lake in the Arcadia Lakes area, Rockyford Lake in Forest Acres and Beaver Dam in Wildwood are scheduled vote in referendums that would create special Richland County tax districts to raise funds for dam repair. Those districts would only encompass the homes on the affected lakes and would levy supplemental property taxes to fund the necessary loans to fix the dams.      Read the article………….
