The sudden cancellation leaves the town holding a bill for hundreds of thousands of dollars, spent on a project that never saw the light of day. On legal expenses alone, the town spent more than $300,000 to defend the project at the Ontario Municipal Board and a number of other court challenges. According to the town’s senior planner, Rick Brady, the hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars – and hundreds of staff and council hours – that were spent on the project are gone for good.     Read more…….
