On November 8, 2016, Florida voters passed Amendment 2, which will become effective January 2017. The Amendment allows the medical use of marijuana for persons with debilitating medical conditions, including HIV, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, seizures, multiple sclerosis, and other conditions, as determined by a licensed Florida physician. A physician’s certification may only be provided after the physician has conducted a physical examination of the patient and fully assessed the patient’s medical history.
