Condo owners ready for flood, thanks to plan

In the middle of a large evacuation alert area, in which residents are busy sandbagging and draining basements of rising groundwater, one building’s name seems particularly apt given current events.  The Water’s Edge.  “It’s a perfect name,” George Mapson, president of the building’s strata council, said Wednesday.  The four-storey condo building with 65 suites is adjacent to Mission Creek and a stone’s throw from Okanagan Lake.  It’s one of dozens of properties on streets around the mouth of the creek that were placed on evacuation alert late Tuesday afternoon because of rising water.    Read the article…………..
