Property owners on Cary Lake being assessed taxes to pay for dam repair (SC)

The town of Arcadia Lakes (pop. 954) is coming back from the domino effect. In October of 2015, Cary Lake’s earthen dam fell prey to the rushing waters.  Soon, perhaps as early as September, after more than a year and a half of planning and work, the new and improved Cary Lake dam will be open for business and the 56- acre lake again will be a reality.  According to Cary Lake Homeowner’s Association President James C. Adams, the dam’s repair is being financed through a Small Business Association loan paid for by a special tax assessment on the 54 residents whose properties border the lake.     Read the article…………
