Mesa vet goes on ‘flag patrol’ to protect American flags in his neighborhood (AZ)

Carlyle Brown goes out on patrol in his Mesa neighborhood every chance he gets, looking for American flags that have seen better days.  “When you see the flags out here flying, you can see they are ripped, slashes on them, edging is gone, all frayed on the end,” Brown said.  The retired Vietnam veteran has no interest in calling homeowners out and reporting them to his homeowners’ association. His mission is simply to let folks know that their flag needs replacing.  Brown then brings them a new flag in exchange for the old one — no questions asked.   Read the article……………
