Researchers, officials drain man-made lake to kill toxic bacteria (MD)

A toxin-producing bacterium in Lake Anita Louise has been treated and is believed to no longer be a threat to human health.  The Center for Coastal and Watershed Studies at Hood College began monitoring the lake in the spring of 2016 to prevent cyanobacteria from growing on top of the lake for a second winter. Researchers treated the lake with peroxide on Dec. 4 to kill any existing bacteria.   Read the article………..
