Residents speak up on condo fees (AB)

Strathcona County condo owners have expressed their concerns about the taxes they pay, and requested a decrease as their rates are the same as single-family homes.  “Condos in the county pay the same rate as residential properties,” said Jeff Mckinnon, manager of county Assessment and Tax. “An assessed value of $500,000 for a condo pays the same as a $500,000 home, so they aren’t higher. I think condo owners feel that they should actually be lower than what a single-family dwelling is.”   Read the article……….
