Serrano HOA hit with a lawsuit (CA)

Serrano resident and former Homeowners Association Director Dean Getz has filed a $15.7 million lawsuit against the Serrano El Dorado Owners Association and Serrano Associates as an individual and on behalf of “all over-assessed past and present” Serrano homeowners.  Getz served on the Serrano HOA’s Board of Directors from 2014 to 2016. During his term Getz brought to light the issue of homeowners paying Mello-Roos in perpetuity and what he called the inequity of what owners of developed lots versus undeveloped lots are assessed and their subsequent voting rights, stating that owners of undeveloped lots who pay less should not have as much weight when casting votes.     Read the article……………..
