Service animals: Can you ask someone to prove need? (FL)

Realtors representing housing providers, such as a condo association, homeowners association or owner, occasionally find themselves in a delicate situation when a customer or client appears to overstep regarding requests for additional information about a service or assistance animal. Occasionally, before providing the legally required reasonable accommodation, the housing provider makes a specific request for documentation to “prove” the need for the animal in question.
