The latest edition of Village Values covered one of the hallmarks of the Village – volunteerism. Without it, Village governance would be quite different. Ten Property Owners’ Association standing committees are staffed by volunteers. And the caring goes beyond the gates, as Village CEO Lesley Nalley said during her introduction. For example, Hot Springs Village residents volunteered 26,400 hours of their time in 2014 at Jackson House in Hot Springs and contributed to many other organizations inside and outside the gates, like garden clubs, MetroPlan, Arkansas Symphony, Habitat for Humanity, the International Red Cross, Heifer International and United Way.
