Water Tower condo neighbors sue over kitchen rehab

Downstairs neighbors are suing to stop remodeling work on a pair of Water Tower Place condominiums that used to be part of Oprah Winfrey’s home, alleging that the rehabbers are using an inferior plumbing material likely to burst and damage the condo below.  Donald and Lisa Casey, who live in a three-bedroom condominium on the 55th floor of the Michigan Avenue tower, allege that the rehab has included a type of plumbing normally prohibited in Chicago high-rises. If it bursts, they “will suffer immediate irreparable and substantial harm,” according to their suit, filed last week in Cook County.  The Caseys want all work to stop on the condo and an adjacent one also being rehabbed, and the subpar plumbing removed.    Read the article………………..
