Unhappy holidays at the condo? (NH)

Summer is distant memory; fall is slowly fading like the color on the leaves; winter is coming and the holidays with them, a situation that brings a certain set of issues not usually thought of at condominium associations. It is not unusual for associations to decorate the common area, put up Christmas lights, wreaths, invite owners to decorate their units, and make the area look festive.  But associations have to remember that not everyone celebrates Christmas. Some celebrate other holidays and some have had horrible tragedies on or around Christmas. In a community association, it’s particularly important to respect the individuals in your association who may be reminded of less than nice things around the holidays. That’s not to say they should not be celebrated, but it should be done with some sensitivity and restriction.    Read the article…………….
