AVAST!!! – LATEST NEWS ON THE OCTOBER REUNION IN SAVANNAH, GA –
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN; HOTEL ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS
The Eighteenth National Reunion of the USS Rochester (CA-124) Association will be held in Savannah, Georgia – Monday, 7 October through Friday, 11 October 2024.
The Reunion Committee selected the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Bonvoy for our lodging, centrally located in the Historic District, along the Trolley Car route, three blocks from the Savannah City Market, restaurants and shopping, and two blocks from the “Ships of the Sea” Maritime Museum.
All rooms feature free WiFi, refrigerator, microwave, safe, and coffee maker. There is a restaurant and lounge on site, an outdoor pool, and laundry facilities. Unfortunately, parking is not gratis. We have reserved a block of 30 rooms and negotiated a special room rate of $149 plus tax (currently 15% plus $6.00 per day). This rate is applicable two days before and after and includes a daily hot breakfast for two.
THE SCHEDULE: The Committee has arranged a more “laid back” schedule with plenty of time to visit with each other, and for personal time maybe shopping or visiting historic points of interest in the city or the area.
- Monday – Hotel Check In, Evening Reception;
- Tuesday – Narrated Tour of Savannah by special reserved Old Town Trolley Cars;
- Wednesday – Open until evening Bingo Night in the Hospitality Suite;
- Thursday – Business Meeting, Evening Banquet;
- Friday – Farewell Gathering.
