    The fire appeared to have consumed a large number of units in at least one of the buildings.  “There are numerous agencies working in the area. Please use caution,” the post said.
  • House passes bill making it easier for condo owners to install solar (CT) April 19, 2024
    The bill serves as an expansion of the solar rights of members of common interest communities, which include condominiums, community apartments, planned developments, etc. A provision in the State’s Clean Air Act, passed in 2022, already prohibited common interest communities from adopting or enforcing rules that would prohibit community residents from installing solar panels.   • Southbury Zoning Dispute Continues Without Conclusion (CT) April 18, 2024
    The application before the commission that night was a request for a modification of detailed plans for 455 Main St. North. Joel Kahn, who is the acting president of Old Field, Inc. Homeowner’s Association, said the association would like to turn one of its two handicapped parking spaces into a regular space and add a landscape buffer along the northern end of the parking area for its club house/community building.   • Fire in Chester condo complex destroys several units (CT) April 16, 2024
    A fire in Chester Tuesday destroyed several units inside a condominium complex.  Chester Fire Department Chief Thomas Marchiano says the flames broke out in the afternoon at the Whispering Hills condominium complex inside a garage and spread to the apartments above.    Read the article…………………………….
  • Town To Finalize Easement Agreement with Condo Association Near Mead Pond (CT) March 12, 2024
    Town officials last week approved funds for a survey of a condominium association’s property that includes an area along the eastern edge of Mead Pond.  The town didn’t realize when it proposed spending federal American Rescue Act funds to create a Flexi-pave walk around the pond two years ago that the abutting Park Slope condo association owns much of the property downslope from its residences, according to Public Works Director Tiger Mann.   Read the article…………………………….

Contractor Licensing:  The contractors who provide you with home improvement services, such as painting, roofing etc., should be registered with the State of Connecticut, Department of Consumer Protection. There is a “guarantee fund” provided by the State which is only available if the vendor is currently licensed through the State of Connecticut.
