Social events may not be proper common expenses, depending on governing documents (FL)

Q: I live in a community governed by a HOA. In the past, we have always had a small portion of our budget set aside for social and community events (i.e. holiday parties, community room gatherings, etc.). Our most recent holiday party was canceled at the last minute. First the board indicated that they would not pay for any alcoholic beverages for any events, which I can understand.    Read the Q&A……………………………….
