As you may be aware, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas recently issued a preliminary injunction in the case of Texas Top Cop Shop, Inc., et al. v. Garland, et al. This decision temporarily blocks the enforcement of the CTA’s beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirements by the U.S. Department of Treasury. The court found that the CTA’s reporting requirements likely exceeded Congress’s authority, improperly compelled speech, and violated the right of anonymous association guaranteed by the First Amendment.     Read the article…………………………….
