The Palos Verdes Estates City Council voted 4-1 Friday, Jan. 11, during a special meeting to resolve a longstanding land dispute with a wealthy homeowner whose property extends 1.7 acres into protected parkland. Under an agreement between the city, the Palos Verdes Homes Association and the Lugliani family, the city will transfer more than four acres of bluff top property into parkland— lots the city had previously acquired when homes there began sliding toward the cliff — in exchange for allowing the Luglianis to keep 1.4 acres of their property that encroached on the park.
