HOA responsible for erosion caused by negligent maintenance of lake vegetation (FL)

Q: About 60% of the homes in our HOA-governed community have property on the shore of lakes located entirely within the community. The HOA has long stressed controlling vegetation along the lake edge, with monthly spraying of emergent vegetation to keep the lawns looking very manicured. They’ve also been sold a bucket of fish – literally – by a management company that overstocked the lake with far too many vegetation-eating grass carp.
