Time for a review of the Strata Property Act (BC)

Increasing numbers of British Columbians live in multi-family developments which are run as strata corporations. Currently, there at over 30,000 active strata plans in B.C. and over 1.5 million live in about 620,000 strata lots.  Owners of each strata elect a council, which must govern in accordance with the Strata Property Act (1998 with subsequent amendments) and regulations.  This can be a difficult task due both to the challenges of dealing with owners with divergent interests and to the limitations of the act itself.    Read the article………….
