A dried-up lake is at the center of a contentious and ongoing neighborhood dispute in Mobile. Optimist Lake off Cody Road is now filled with overgrowth after a dam collapsed in 2021. There’s finger-pointing about how it got to that point and a power struggle over who has the authority to call the shots.
