Woman fighting $23K in East Lansing rental (of condo) fines

An attorney who has successfully challenged East Lansing’s rental license requirement is back in court defending an Ann Arbor woman who was cited 45 times and fined $23,000.  Mark Grebner said the city could have levied smaller fines and that the city’s code enforcement officer ignored an amended city ordinance that allows officers to reduce citations based on the “good faith of the violator or the general interests of justice.”      Read more……..
