New York and Airbnb head back to court over illegal short-term rentals, and it may all come down to the Communications Decency Act

In a spate of cases across the country, Airbnb is opening up a line of attack that pits Internet freedom against land use regulation. The shield Airbnb seeks to use these days is primarily the Communication Decency Act Section 230, which provides that, “No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider.” Airbnb is arguing that this broad provision protects it against a host of regulations and fines.    Read the article…………….
