- Grand Lake Homeowners Association hit with $100,000 theft (OK) December 16, 2024A Grove woman accused of stealing over $100,000 from a Grand Lake gated community homeowners association is released from jail after posting bail, online court records show. Christina Antoinette Dentmon, 42, is charged with embezzlement in Delaware County District Court in Jay. Court records show that between July 9, 2018, and July 8, 2024, Dentmon allegedly embezzled $106,797.69 in unauthorized expenditures. Read the article…………………………….
- BOI registrations stayed nationally per a 5th Circuit injunction December 4, 2024Great news: A 5th Circuit judge has issued a nationwide preliminary injunction on CTA BOI registrations. While the case does not involve HOA/condo board members, the ruling is expansive and covers all registrations. However, Robert Esquivias, one of the residents, in addition with others, said they’ve been getting charged more than they should, according to the by-laws, attributing it to finding out the board members aren’t paying their own HOA fees. - Owasso homeowners warned to avoid pond due to toxic algae bloom (OK) July 3, 2024An Owasso homeowners Association is asking residents to stay away from the ponds in their neighborhood due to blue-green algae which is killing the fish. The Lake Valley Home Owner’s Association in Owasso took to social media asking residents to steer clear of one of several neighborhood ponds, saying there is blue-green algae present. - Regarding who must report Beneficial Owner Information for an incorporated HOA, FINCEN’s FAQ has this to say: (OK)A homeowners association (HOA) that meets the reporting company definition and does not qualify for any exemptions must report its beneficial owner(s). A beneficial owner is any individual who, directly or indirectly, exercises substantial control over a reporting company, or owns or controls at least 25 percent of the ownership interests of a reporting company.
