One year after she was told that she was being evicted, Martha Hummel says she’s bought back the deed to her north Loveland home, where she is again living. The 71-year-old was foreclosed on by her homeowners’ association in 2019, after unknowingly falling behind in her dues while incapacitated and homebound with severe depression linked to a thyroid disorder. But after an 8th Judicial District Court judge ruled in July to set aside the default judgment that opened the door for the foreclosure, Hummel said she was able to buy back the deed to the property for about $19,000 — the same amount that investor C and C Investments tried to buy it for previously.
