The craziest HOA rules in Northern California

Earlier this year, an Auburn homeowners’ association made news when it required everyone in the community to keep their garage doors open or face a $400 fine.  The policy was reportedly a response to someone in the community allowing people to live in their garage. Anyone who left the garage door closed could be subject to a $200 fine, despite the risk of theft that came with leaving the door open (the rule has since been rescinded).  It turns out that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to HOA bylaws that seem to defy all reason.     Read the article………………
