SC homeowners have fallen victim to companies exploiting HOA foreclosure loophole

South Carolina does not require including mortgage companies in lawsuits when homeowners associations foreclose over unpaid fees. Surrounding states, including North Carolina, Florida and Georgia, allow for HOA foreclosures but have statutes governing them. But in South Carolina it’s left to the courts’ discretion, said Columbia lawyer Brian Gambrell, who has a number of these cases pending.   Read the article………………….
